"Blessed Are They Which Do Hunger and Thirst After Righteousness"
July 30, 2000
Doyle Barnett

Matthew 5:4--"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled."

John 7:37--"If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink."

John 6:53-58 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye EAT the flesh of the Son of man, and DRINK his blood, ye have no life in you. [54] Whoso EATETH MY FLESH, and DRINKETH MY BLOOD, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [55] For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. [56] He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. [57] As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. [58] This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Jesus said for us to come and drink--to come and eat. We must do the coming. We decide to do this. We have to lay down our will in order to come!

This hungering and thirsting is from a spirit that is STARVING!!

We get righteousness simply in the seeking of God. If our heart is after Him, then we will be filled with righteousness.

Romans 15:14--filled with goodness.

Ephesians 3:19--filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 5:18--filled with the Spirit.

Jeremiah 29:13--seek Me and you will find me, when you seek Me with all your heart!

Phillipians 1:11--filled with the fruits of righteousness.

Colossians 1:9--filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Acts 13:52--filled with joy and the Holy Ghost.

2 Cor. 9:9-10 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. [10] Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

These are just some of the things that the Lord will fill us with as we hunger and thirst after righteousness.
