"Seek the Lord"
January 23, 2000
Text: Hebrews 12:10

The Lord chastens us for OUR profit (benefit). This yields the fruit of righteousness in our lives, because when the Lord corrects (chastens) us, we get the opportunity to go His way and not our own.

The church has had false advertising. We need the fire of God, so that what we SAY we have to give, we truly HAVE to give!

Acts 13:22

"...David, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill ALL my will."

Acts 15:16-17

"After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: (v17)That the residue of men might SEEK after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things."

In John 17, Jesus prayed that we would be one with the Father as he is one with the Father. This is how we are going to do ALL of God's will.

We need to SEEK the Lord (ourselves) while He may be found! Isaiah 55:6

In Psalm 130, verse 5, David said,"I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word do I hope."

Jesus did all the works God had called him to do because,"God was with him." Acts 10:38. We need the same thing said about us--that God is with us.

II Chronicles7:14--Humble ourselves, pray, and SEEK God's face

Exodus 33:20--"Thou canst not see my face;for there shall no man see me, and live."

In Genesis 32, from last week, Jacob saw the Lord face to face! God's glory kills our flesh! Jacob was changed after he saw the Lord face to face. We are not to seek God's hand, but his face.
