"Spending and Being Spent"
June 4, 2000

Mark 16:15-20 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [19] So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. [20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

2 Cor. 12:15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

The signs that are to follow believers are casting out devils. We have power over all demonic powers and are to cast them out at the leading of the Holy Spirit.

We will speak with new tongues. Not only speak in tongues as an evidence of the infilling with the Holy Spirit, but speak differently than we did before being born-again. We will speak what God says.

We will take up serpents (the devil) and if we drink any deadly thing it will not hurt us. We are protected supernaturally by God!

We will lay hands on the sick and they SHALL recover.

When we are born-again the life of God comes into us. We are new born. This enables us to know God. And now we need to allow God to know us. We need to commune with Him so He can know us.

When we know Him and He knows us we are one.

We know what He wants to do in a particular situation, or can find out because our communion is so close.

Jesus wants us to spend our lives and be spent in giving our lives to others.
